If you often pay attention to jogging shoes, then you may easily find that major sports brands basically lay out their product lines in this way, that is, top professional jogging shoes compete for the name, and entry-level casual running shoes compete for the market.
It is said that professional jogging shoes are good, and the latest technologies from various companies come together to compete in one shoe to compete with others, but after all, they are only needed by a small number of people. For most of us ordinary sports enthusiasts, we do not need multi-professional equipment to support our daily use and exercise needs. In comparison, entry-level sports shoes can meet both daily life and various sports needs. The price is cheap, but it meets the real needs of most of us. It is also the largest end of the jogging shoe market.
Jogging and fitness
Naturally, various sports brands also understand the truth. Therefore, sports shoes that focus on leisure life, jogging and fitness have naturally become a must-have for major brands. Among them, Xtep can rank among the top 5 in terms of long-term sales. Power Nest running shoes are definitely one of them. You can search this on several major e-commerce platforms or refer to the sales lists of individual platforms. In terms of sales, they are definitely a popular pair of running shoes.
It has been more than two months since I got this pair of Xtep Power Nest running shoes, during which I ran a total of 43 kilometers while wearing them, and mostly for daily wear. As a pair of casual jogging shoes priced at 200 yuan (more than 100 yuan during activities), I will share with you some of my feelings about this pair of shoes in terms of running and daily wear, for the reference of friends who are interested in this shoe.
Since this shoe is called a power nest running shoe, we must first talk about Xtep’s power nest technology. This midsole material can be said to be Xtep’s most core running shoe midsole platform at present, such as the more familiar Xtep 160X 2.0 and 160X The Pro two professional carbon plate racing running shoes and the recently released nylon plate racing running shoe 260X use Power Nest technology as the midsole material. They are just upgraded Power Nest PB and Power Nest X. .
Power nests
Different forms of power nests have differences in cushioning and resilience performance. The more advanced the power nest, the more powerful it is. This power nest running shoe uses the most basic form of the power nest technology midsole, although it is more powerful than the power nest. It is not as good as Xtep’s flagship professional shoes, but the materials used are also very solid. The thickness of the midsole of the forefoot is 25mm, and the thickness of the midsole of the rear foot is 35mm. As a casual running shoe, it is very thick and can be used for daily walking and jogging. The shock and rebound are also very comfortable.
But after all, it is the most basic power nest material and has limited performance. Among them, I have worn these shoes twice and ran more than 10 kilometers. After jogging for about 7 kilometers at 6 minutes speed, I felt that the cushioning and rebound began to weaken. If the pace is within 6 minutes, it can basically be do after 4 kilometers. Feeling significantly attenuated. Especially for sprinting, as the pace increases, the midsole’s deformation recovery ability is felt to be weak, and the foot feel will be significantly harder.
Coupled with the weight of a single shoe of about 340g, it is not suitable as a pair of daily long-distance running training shoes . Therefore, this pair of Xtep power nest running shoes is more suitable for daily leisure and jogging of about 5 kilometers, or daily exercise in the gym.
Stability
In terms of stability, there is a whole piece of TPU wrap around the side of the shoe to the heel, and the heel port design is very balanced. The setting is a bit hard, so the stability of this pair of running shoes is very strong. Wearing it alternately with the Jordan Feiying PB for running on different roads, it does feel much more stable on the uneven roads with small stone slabs like those in the park. This kind of stable protection is definitely enough for novices to protect their ankles.
Wear-resistant and anti-slip, it is also very good. The entire outsole contact area is covered with a layer of wear-resistant rubber. This material is relatively wear-resistant and has a certain hardness that can resist torsion. However, because there is no anti-torsion piece design, the torsion resistance is not very strong . This pair of shoes has been used for nearly 50 kilometers of running and frequent daily commuting. There are still no visible signs of wear and tear. At this rate, it is estimated that there will be no problem in wearing them for a year or two. The pattern design of the outsole is also quite rough. There is no sign of instability when going downhill on the bluestone after the rain.
The entire upper is design with three-dimensional mesh. Compare to my other running shoes, the breathability can only be consider average. But after all, this is an autumn and winter shoe upper design. When I wore it, I felt that the breathability was just right and I didn’t feel cold (in autumn and winter ).
Summarize:
Xtep Power Nest introduced this pair of sports shoes more as Jogging shoes in its official introduction. And did not introduce them in that aspect like other casual running shoes. But in terms of configuration and performance, I personally feel that this pair of shoes is more of a pair of casual jogging shoes. Suitable for daily wear outside the 6-speed range. Jogging in the park, or running legs for about five kilometers at the gym. After all, it is a real bag shoe design. The materials and stable protection design are more careful. The foot feels soft and comfortable, which is much better than ordinary casual shoes. And it is also very cost-effective for running shoes in the same price range (early two hundred). After all, So many people have already bought it.
